About Dr Lago

Heather was born and raised in the city of Syracuse.  She attended Henninger High School on the north side of Syracuse, graduating in 1994.  She gained her Bachelor’s degree in biology from SUNY Geneseo in 1998.  After graduation, she went to work for Quarryside Animal Hospital as a receptionist and veterinary assistant, hoping to gain better insight into the field of veterinary medicine.  While still working at Quarryside, Heather received her MBA from Syracuse University in 2004.  Returning to school once again, she received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University in 2009.  After graduation, Heather returned to Quarryside in July 2009 as Dr. Rothman’s newest associate veterinarian.  She has been very excited to see many old faces, including pets, clients and staff members.   She is also delighted to meet many new faces, most certainly the furry ones.

When Heather is not caring for animals, she can be found traveling the globe with her husband.  Some interesting, exotic places they have been include the French Polynesia, Easter Island, Russia and China.  Heather currently lives in the Pompey countryside with her Belgian Tervuren dog, Kanoa, and her three domestic short hair cats, Fleur-de-lis, Sassafras, and Colin.
